Happy Earth Day, Kimberley!
Yes, isn't it just truly amazing how much time goes into these networks? Loved hearing from you, and of course you know how delighted I am to have your support for Ursa. The bears tug at my heart and gut all day long. I don't think I'll ever rest again until they're all released from those horrid crush cages. Itty bitty bear cubs were confiscated just the other day and are now in Animals Asia's Vietnam bear sanctuary. Those success stories keep all the workers going. Be sure to include me in your blast when your new site is up. Love you!!!

Hi Kimberley -
Earth Day is nearly here, and that makes me think of all of my eco sisters walking the path for Earth Healing. It's time to say Thank You for your contributions.

Hi Kimberley -
I haven't chatted with you in so long. It's amazing how swamped under I have become. Even ecopaparazzi got delayed for updating. Yipes! THere are days when I feel like there needs to be three of me. I know that you know this same feeling. How are you? I miss talking to you! Ursa Freedom Project is keeping busier than I thought it would, but it's all such important and necessary work to free the bears. Let's chat soon.
Hugs,
Jeanette

Hi Kimberley, No worries about a timeframe with me, all things evolve in their season and I am a sporadic 'Net person, as well. I am thrilled to share the list I can send your way. Perhaps some of these dynamic women can helpfully point up to the objectives you are developing. I am swamped this week but I look forward to compiling and getting a list to you soon.

To your joyful and inspired conjurings!

Hi Kimberley,
I just joined I-Soul (I better with the image than the letters, methinks). Nice idea! I'll be an intermittent visitor but look forward to seeing what comes up on the forum.

btw... If you'd like a list of bad-ass women who do amazing things around the globe–some little known in a media way, and some more so–I'll be happy to send you a list of url's. At the top of my list is Wangari Maathai who lots of people know of. She's a dynamo who empowered African women through her tree-planting project. I cultivate trees and live with lots of 'em, so she won my heart straightaway.

Wow, now my head's filled with the faces of so many women who are heros in my book! Thanks for calling them all to my mind.

Cheers! Camila

ECO KUDOS

The Indianapolis Prize is the largest individual monetary award for animal species conservation in the world and is given as an unrestricted gift to the chosen honoree by the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation.

The award is not designed to be a quiet, academic, scientist-focused event, but instead an energetic and spectacular celebration of conservation victories. The goal is to inspire the general public to start caring about conservation, and to place heroes, who live in tents in danger of both wild beasts and poachers, on the pedestal that we usually reserve for sports and entertainment stars.

The recent East Asian Seas (EAS) Congress held in Manila, Philippines, concluded with the signing of the Agreement Recognizing the Legal Personality of Partnerships in the Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia. This Agreement creates a fully-fledged international body to work for sustainable development of the region’s coastal and marine areas.

With both acknowledged and possible calamities as compelling and urgent
catalysts, Raincoast Conservation is advocating for British Columbia's first fully protected salmon runs. The move is an effort to save the grizzly bear species.

This bold and ambitious proposal runs contrary to the historical underpinnings of salmon management, as fisheries managers have always assumed that salmon exist exclusively for human consumption.

According to Raincoast, it is a matter of competition, and the odds are stacked against carnivores in these coastal salmon forests.

TAKE ACTION!

Become part of the Backyard Revolution and landscape for wildlife.

Replace your lawn with native shrubs, flowers and trees. Plant a butterfly garden, and put in a pond. You'll benefit from the beauty and tranquility of your yard, and wildlife will benefit from the food and water sources that you provide.

Need some guidance? Read the book Bringing Nature Home.

Half of all animal species will be extinct in our lifetime, unless emissions peak by 2020. Cut greenhouse gas emissions by reducing your energy consumption, learning more about climate change and getting active in community efforts to heal the Earth. Become part of the solution.

Feed the hungry.
Save indigenous people.

Support a sustainable planet.

Think outside yourself.
Live compassionately.
Stop the violence.
