Hola Priscilla -
I miss you! And I miss Nicaragua! Since coming to Costa Rica I have worked, worked and worked on the internet. I have so much to do before returning to the U.S. that I wonder sometimes how I will get it all accomplished. But I do miss going for walks in Esteli and being in the mountain in Miraflor. And I miss you. We have rain every day in San Jose, in the afternoon. But it is good for the environment so I never complain about it. Tell me what is going on in Managua. And give everything a hug for me. Many blessings to you, Priscilla. God bless!

Immeasurable beauty lives where dolphins swim free...
We are so blessed to experience life
on such a beautiful planet...

Although, blind to her beauty....
industrial giants profit as they destroy
the loving whales alive...
and dolphins now swim in their toxic cocktails...
If we do not defend the Living Oceans
from the industrial profiteers,
who will...

How can we be so blind... to so much beauty...

Hola Priscilla -
Here you are! How fun to see you here, and I just love that beautiful photograph of you! Let's put some La Chureca photos up here on ecopaparazzi so others can see what we're doing in Managua, your special home city.

Profile Information

What do you love most about Ma Earth?
Animals, Naturals Resources, Beauty and God provides us everything we need through nature.
What environmental issue concerns you most?
People polluting our waters and land by not disposing of garbage properly. We have a problem with waste managment, which needs a modern solution.
Who is your Eco Hero/Heroine?
Al Gore & Rachel Carson
What actions are you taking to help heal the Earth?
I"m working with youth in Central America's largest waste dump in Managua, to teach them about social responsibility, recycling, reusing and loving and respecting nature. I also am the Ambassador at Ursa Freedom Project for my country, and will work to help free the bears in China and Vietnam because I love animals and want my people to help in this global campaign.
What's the best eco quote you've ever heard?
Deja el mundo en mejores condiciones, de las que recibistes. Baden Powell.

Translation: Leave the Earth in a better condition than how you received it.
What is your favorite green website?
http://www.animalsasia.org
What gives you the greatest hope for the future of the planet?
More and more people are developing a higher consciousness about their own personal responsibility in finding solutions to environmental problems and then working through direct action to solve the problems.
What else would you like to tell us about yourself?
I am a person who loves nature and am working to create a new Nicaragua with more social responsibility toward the environment, with companies and each other. I believe each person can make a difference by getting involved and doing action to solve problems. We don't have to sit back and watch and be silent. Each one of us can change everything that needs to be changed for a better future. Cuenta conmigo ... count on me!

ECO KUDOS

With both acknowledged and possible calamities as compelling and urgent
catalysts, Raincoast Conservation is advocating for British Columbia's first fully protected salmon runs. The move is an effort to save the grizzly bear species.

This bold and ambitious proposal runs contrary to the historical underpinnings of salmon management, as fisheries managers have always assumed that salmon exist exclusively for human consumption.

According to Raincoast, it is a matter of competition, and the odds are stacked against carnivores in these coastal salmon forests.
