Hi Maria, let's turn our sadness and anger into power to make a different to teh world, to the animals, and to the bear. As long as we all do our part and working together to achieve our goals, we will get there one day!

Hi Maria,
It is true about the planing of the degraded forest. However, it would be impossible to bring back the forest into its original stage before the disturbance. One a pristine rainforest is gone, they are gone forever.

Good to know that you have a good trip in Borneo but sorry to hear that you were sad of what you seen and experience. This is the fact and is happening in Borneo. I have seen this with my own eyes for the past 10 years. People can learn more about Bornoe at http://sunbears.wildlifedirect.org/category/borneo/
Frustration, sad, helpless, that’s why I decided to do something and do my very best to help. You all can do the same. Now we have a good reason to protect the remaining rainforest in Borneo and other places: global warming that threatened many life forms, including human, on Earth.
Your idea of creating music to help the cause of sun bear and raise awareness of the plights of sun bear is very good indeed. I strongly you encourage to do it. Please do take the advantage of what you do best because it will be effective and successful. Please tell me how can I help. Please feel free to email me at wongsiew@hotmail.com if you would like to discuss more.
Thank you very much for your help. I am looking forward to hear more from you.
Bear hugs,
Wong

Hi Teresa -
If you document the logging abuses in Borneo I'll be sure and put your work here at ecopaparazzi to help others understand what's going on. Deforestation is wiping out the sun bear and so many other species there. My goal is to make a trip to Borneo within a year to work with Wong, so let's do it together! Get to know Wong. He's doing awesome work for the sun bears in Borneo. Check out his page. I'm glad you're here. Welcome!
Jeanette

ECO KUDOS

With both acknowledged and possible calamities as compelling and urgent
catalysts, Raincoast Conservation is advocating for British Columbia's first fully protected salmon runs. The move is an effort to save the grizzly bear species.

This bold and ambitious proposal runs contrary to the historical underpinnings of salmon management, as fisheries managers have always assumed that salmon exist exclusively for human consumption.

According to Raincoast, it is a matter of competition, and the odds are stacked against carnivores in these coastal salmon forests.

I've seen this. It's quite disturbing. It reminds me so much of Bear Baiting. I feel the same way about fur-trappers. They catch the animal using a horrible leg-hold trap or snare... and then when they see that they've caught it, they club it over...
