Hi Maryse -
I love the way you have wrapped up the illusion of time. day ... night ... moon ... sun. It conjures a wonderfully graphic image. Tiny Moon Bear cubs just rescued and now at Animals Asia's Vietnam bear sanctuary. They are soooooo cute!

Immeasurable beauty lives where wildlife is free...
We are so blessed to experience life
on such a beautiful planet...

Although, blind to her beauty....
industrial giants profit as they destroy
the living whales alive...
and dolphins now swim in their toxic byproducts...
If we do not defend the Living Oceans
from the industrial profiteers,
who will...

For all of time....
and the infinite universe...
we have ONE planet...

How can we be so blind... to so much beauty...

In all the universe...
We have the only Living Oceans...

Hi Maryse -
I'm so glad to hear from you, and thanks for the kudos about the new Action Network and related sites. I'll be seeing a lot of you over there as well as ecopaparazzi. Camila, who helped create the sites, is researching everything about bear bile in Chines medicine. She is a Chinese TCM practioner and knew nothing about bear bile farming until my article, which led to the Ursa Freedom Project. She will be interested in what you have reported here, even though it dates to 2002. I will pass along your info to her.

In order for me to know what's working and what isn't on the new network, can you try this before I send you the photos through email:

go to the action network and get the drop menu under the Tab Resources. The drop menu will say html codes. Open this page and copy the html code for whichever graphic you want to use on Facebook. Then go to Facebook and paste the code. See if the image appears after pasting the code. If it does, I won't need to send the photos. But if it doesn't, then I will need to send photos. I am trying to make the site all inclusive so that anything anybody needs can be obtained directly from the Ning Action Network. It will help me a lot if I know whether you have success copying and pasting from the html Tab.

Mac users can easily drag the images off onto their desktop and resuse them. I don't know how PC users do this, but there must be a way. Did you try right clicking from the image?

There is a young woman who joined the Action Network today named Kerri. She is a Facebook/Care2 social media guru and will be a big help to you on the campaign. Get to know her. She is wonderful. She will love getting to know you. The two of you share heart, compassion and innovative approaches to problem solving. You are both gentle souls with spirits of a tiger to bring about positive and permanent social change.

Don*t Drink the WATER....from Care2 Cause site

Thought this was an interesting article. I am guilty of buying plastic bottled water when I am in some Asian countries like Thailand and India. Though once my body has adapted I drink local water. Here in Japan it is insane the variety of bottled water. Big business and fashionable...uggh. I try and bring my own container of water and fill it with mountain water where I can. But friends in the city who don&t have good drinking water always buy bottled mountain water...water water..this is th… Continue

Recycling those tv's sterios ec....

Last year when I moved into my new home there was a lot of garbage that I either had to dispose of or re-cycle. Some of these things included appliances, televisions, heaters, washing machine ect....
I had taken over an abandon house that had been empty for 3 years. Needless to say the mice poop, bee nests and other critters living there had to find themselves new homes. The owners had passed away and the son didn't want to keep the house or fix it up for re-sale. They lent it to me for next to… Continue

Tsanpo Brahmaputra river diversion project scheduled for 2009

This issue was brought to my attention on the Facebook by Tenring Wangchuck Save Brahmaputra Movement. It is a grave concern for the people of India and particularly Bangladesh to have the rivers to be controlled by China. here is an article that explains the situation very well. Indeed most people don't know about this and certainly Bangladesh has very little political power to fight China on this. It is certainly up to other nations to help and question this project.http://www.indiapost.com/ar… Continue

Tsangpo River Diversion Project....something to be concerned about

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/China/JL09Ad01.html
This article from AsianTimes is about the Tsangpo River Diversion project scheduled for 2009. I am amazed at how this huge project is unpublished or heard of. China plans to build a dam which divert the flow of the Tsangpo river which eventually runs into the the Brahmaputra River of India and Bangladesh. In short though this plan will help irrigation in China it will absolutely disrupt the natural pristene enviroment of the eastern region of Tibe… Continue

There are regular beach cleans recently. some supported by the surf rider fondation of Japan and others by just local surfers who buy alote of beer and get together. http://www.eco-surf.com/

ECO KUDOS

The Indianapolis Prize is the largest individual monetary award for animal species conservation in the world and is given as an unrestricted gift to the chosen honoree by the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation.

The award is not designed to be a quiet, academic, scientist-focused event, but instead an energetic and spectacular celebration of conservation victories. The goal is to inspire the general public to start caring about conservation, and to place heroes, who live in tents in danger of both wild beasts and poachers, on the pedestal that we usually reserve for sports and entertainment stars.

The recent East Asian Seas (EAS) Congress held in Manila, Philippines, concluded with the signing of the Agreement Recognizing the Legal Personality of Partnerships in the Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia. This Agreement creates a fully-fledged international body to work for sustainable development of the region’s coastal and marine areas.

With both acknowledged and possible calamities as compelling and urgent
catalysts, Raincoast Conservation is advocating for British Columbia's first fully protected salmon runs. The move is an effort to save the grizzly bear species.

This bold and ambitious proposal runs contrary to the historical underpinnings of salmon management, as fisheries managers have always assumed that salmon exist exclusively for human consumption.

According to Raincoast, it is a matter of competition, and the odds are stacked against carnivores in these coastal salmon forests.

TAKE ACTION!

Become part of the Backyard Revolution and landscape for wildlife.

Replace your lawn with native shrubs, flowers and trees. Plant a butterfly garden, and put in a pond. You'll benefit from the beauty and tranquility of your yard, and wildlife will benefit from the food and water sources that you provide.

Need some guidance? Read the book Bringing Nature Home.

Half of all animal species will be extinct in our lifetime, unless emissions peak by 2020. Cut greenhouse gas emissions by reducing your energy consumption, learning more about climate change and getting active in community efforts to heal the Earth. Become part of the solution.

Feed the hungry.
Save indigenous people.
Stand up for workers' rights.

Be kind to animals.
Stop factory farms.
Save 100 animals every year.

End deforestation for grazing.
Save an acre of trees.
End grazing on public lands.

Tell USDA 'Wildlife Services'
to stop killing wildlife for
corporate ranchers' profits.

Stop wars for resources.
Help end corporate rule.
Live your conscience.

Save our oceans.
Stop the #1 polluter of water.
Support a sustainable planet.

Think outside yourself.
Live compassionately.
Stop the violence.
